Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy applies when you use the FastTile macOS application, visit the FastTile website, purchase or manage a license, check for software updates, or contact us for support.
FastTile is operated by 深圳轻海网络科技有限公司 (Shenzhen Qinghai Network Technology Co., Ltd., the English business name we use internationally), a company established in the People's Republic of China ("FastTile," "we," "us," or "our"). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy except where a third party, such as our merchant of record, independently determines how it processes information.
Our business address is Room 537, Building 51, No. 5 Qiongyu Road, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. For privacy questions or requests, email support@fasttile.app.
This policy does not govern third-party websites or services that you choose to visit. Their own privacy notices apply to their processing.
Information we process
Purchase and customer information
Purchases are handled by Freemius, Inc. ("Freemius"), our merchant of record. Freemius may make limited customer and transaction information available to us, such as your email address, License Key, product or plan, order details, and purchase, refund, or payment status.
Freemius and its payment providers process payment card details, billing details, and tax information as needed to complete the transaction. We do not receive or store your complete payment card number. Freemius also processes information under its own Privacy Policy.
Freemius may send transactional communications needed for your purchase and license, including receipts, License Keys, payment notices, and refund confirmations.
License and activation information
When you activate, validate, or deactivate a FastTile license, the app sends the following information to Freemius:
- your License Key and the FastTile product identifier;
- a pseudonymous device identifier derived from a one-way cryptographic hash of your Mac's hardware UUID;
- a generated device label based on that pseudonymous identifier, not your Mac's actual computer name;
- the Freemius installation identifier and activation, deactivation, and validation status; and
- standard network information necessarily associated with the request, such as the IP address.
This information is required to activate and validate a paid license, apply device limits, provide offline grace periods, and prevent License Key abuse. If it is not provided, we cannot verify paid access.
Support and communications
If you contact us, we process your email address, message, and any screenshots, files, diagnostic details, or other information you choose to provide, together with our response and support history. Please do not send information that is not necessary for us to assist you.
Website and update requests
When you visit our website or FastTile checks for updates, the services that deliver the website and updates may process standard request information, such as your IP address, device or browser information, the requested resource, and the date and time of the request. We use this information only to deliver, maintain, and secure the website and software updates. FastTile does not send optional system-profile information when checking for updates.
Local-only processing
FastTile uses macOS Accessibility permission solely to identify the current foreground application and focused window, read that window's position and size, and move or resize it at your direction. The application name, bundle identifier, icon, process identifier, and window geometry used for this purpose are processed transiently on your Mac. We do not transmit them to us or to Freemius.
FastTile does not use Accessibility permission to collect keystrokes, inspect document contents, record your screen, or read the contents of your files.
The app stores license and trial-related records locally in the macOS Data Protection Keychain. These records are used only to manage license access and trial eligibility. They do not sync through iCloud Keychain and are not included in device migration by FastTile.
How and why we use information
We process information to:
- deliver FastTile, activate and validate licenses, provide trials and updates, and perform our contract with you;
- respond to support, billing, refund, and privacy requests;
- protect FastTile, our users, and our licensing systems from fraud, security threats, License Key sharing, and other abuse;
- maintain the reliability and security of our website and update infrastructure; and
- comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where the General Data Protection Regulation or similar laws apply, our legal bases are performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing FastTile, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where we specifically request it. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests as described under Your privacy rights.
License validation is automated. An unsuccessful validation may disable paid features after any applicable offline grace period. It uses license and activation status, not behavioral profiling. Contact us if you believe a validation result is incorrect.
International transfers
We are based in China, Freemius is based in the United States, and our infrastructure providers may operate in other countries. As a result, your information may be processed outside the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we and our providers use appropriate safeguards or other lawful transfer mechanisms, including applicable contractual protections. You may contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to your information.
Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing licenses and support, maintaining security and fraud-prevention records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal, tax, accounting, and reporting obligations. The applicable period depends on the type of information and why it is processed.
Local license and trial records are retained on your Mac only as needed to manage access, license status, and trial eligibility. They remain protected by the macOS Data Protection Keychain unless the corresponding Keychain data is erased.
Freemius determines retention periods for information it independently processes as merchant of record. Please see the Freemius Privacy Policy for details.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted HTTPS connections, signed software updates, access controls, and the macOS Data Protection Keychain for local license records. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- request access to and a copy of your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion of your information;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing; and
- lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your country, including an authority in the EEA or United Kingdom where applicable.
To exercise a right, email support@fasttile.app. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Rights may be limited where applicable law permits or requires us to retain information, including for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
For information controlled independently by Freemius, you may also need to submit your request directly to Freemius.
Children's privacy
FastTile is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as FastTile or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the date above. If a change is material, we may also provide notice through the app, website, email, or another appropriate channel.
